-Henri NouwenFinding 10 minutes in our busy days to pray can certainly be a challenge – it can be hard to make time to focus on God. But I wonder how our lives would be different if we were to stay in closer touch with God in 2009?
It can be hard to know how to pray – what to say, or what to do. Here are some suggestions to try – if one doesn’t work, try another. There is no right or wrong way to talk with God.
-Some Ways To Pray-
pick a regular time each day to pray – early in the morning or before bed each night.
some people pray to music – make your own music, or listen to music without words or with Christian lyrics.
some people pray better when they are doing something – doodling, drawing, running, walking the dog. If your body needs to be active while you pray, do something that will allow your thoughts to focus on God, even as your body is moving.
use the Bible or a devotional book (ie. DEVOzine) to give you ideas of what to pray about.
if you don’t know what to pray about, just talk to God about that.
As you greet the New Year, think about making conversation with God a more regular part of your life. Get to know God, and let God get to know you.
And know that even as you pray, members of the YMT, your church family, and I will be in prayer for you. May this New Year be "life altering" in your relationship with God, and may it be full of peace, happiness, and new adventures!

Youth Calendar for 2009!
Hey, Everyone! There is a lot in store for us in the year ahead! The YMT has been as busy as Santa’s elves planning our spring calendar, and following up on some of the suggestions you have made for our youth gatherings and activities. We are still tweaking the schedule a little and with your continuing input we will be sending out a more detailed calendar in early January. Meanwhile, we hope the calendar in this newsletter will help you save some dates!
